The best way to spread Christmas cheer

Holiday Giveaway #2

UPDATE: Winner Announced
Picture this scene with me: It’s a cold winter night. You’re curled up in front of the fire, wrapped in soft, green throw blanket. You listen as Buddy the elf explains the four main food groups, “candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.” Meanwhile, you sip on your mug of hot chocolate, dreaming of snow flakes.

When my husband and I had been dating a year and a half, and I was pretty sure that this was going to be “it,” I suggested that we exchange ornaments for Christmas. I usually try to find something that represents what we’ve gone through that year, such as a bulldozer the year he started working for a CAT dealership and one from the Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon I ran last year with Team Challenge. Now, we have ornaments documenting our life together for the past seven years! OK, your turn…

Hands down my favorite Christmas tradition is after the boys and dad and I unwrap gifts, dad make waffles and we sit down to watch the 24 hour marathon of “The Christmas Story”. It is known by those close to me that we are exactly like the family on the show, down to the two boys, the mom and the dad. A close second is watching Rudolph and “It’s a Wonderful Life” my very favorite movie ever!!!!
I don’t know how to tag or anything but wanted to wish you a happy holiday season!
Merry Christmas to Stephanie and your hubby!!!!

My family always hides a pickle ornament on the tree, and the person who finds it gets a special treat.

My favorite holiday tradition is to watch all of the old Holiday classic movies like “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, drink hot chocolate and color Christmas coloring books.

My favorite Christmas tradition was always waking up super early with my sisters and getting our stockings and looking through them together. We didn’t always get along but on Christmas morning my sisters were my best friends. I hope my son will feel the magic of Christmas morning.

My favorite holiday tradition would have to be going around town and looking at all the lights. My daughter is five now and she sees the beauty and magic Christmas. I’m reminded what Christmas felt like when I was a young child.

I have a few favorite traditions 🙂 I love opening presents with my husband every year. I know that seems cheesy and what not but it’s probably my absolute favorite. I always try to find him something really unique or something he’d never expect in a million years. Then I make him open the gifts in a certain order and I wait ‘like a kid on Christmas’ for him to open that crazy gift with this stupid grin on my face and his reaction is always the best. Haha! I love it. And we always make a special breakfast…it could be as simple as cinnamon rolls or more involved like waffles or casserole but we always do something special. And finally, my side of the family started a new tradition last year of doing Bingo. Everyone brings a few little things as prizes and the whole family sits down together and we duke it out. It’s one of the most fun things we’ve ever done. I love having everyone together, laughing and carrying on. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!!!!!

My favorite is baking dozens of Christmas cookies together and then going to the Seniors Home to deliver them on Christmas Eve. We all sing carols as we bring them room to room and I am not sure who enjoys them the most, us or them!

We go out on Christmas Eve & look at the lights. Santa comes by while we’re gone (a super speedy super sneaky extra stop) to leave PJ’s, a book, game, movie or whatever to make the time pass faster and the elves set up a sausage cheese & cracker snack.

We always open one present Christmas Eve (the kids always beg just one more) but we always stick to it and make them wait until Christmas morning for the rest, so they can have wonderful dreams all night.

We have lots of Christmas traditions. First we cut a tree and decorate that. Then we buy gifts. Then we do lots of baking and make candy. Then on Christmas we all open one gift from under the tree and on Christmas morning we open the rest. Then usually we have a ham dinner and then we watch a Christmas movie in the afternoon. I saw the Elf movie on TV last year and would love a copy of that. Thanks for having this contest.

Thanks for the giveaway…the weekend before Xmas the extended family (and friends) gather for a Christmas cookie / Gingerbread House / Cake / Pie baking marathon; the kids help mix & measure ingredients, the parents supervise, and everyone enjoys hot cider with the baking “rejects’ i.e. burnt, broken, misshapen baked goods…we save the good stuff for Christmas & New Year’s
