The good ol' days

I’ve been doing some reminiscing lately. It started by spending time with my best friend Reagan. Whenever we spend time together, we always end up talking about the past and remembering some random event from when we were younger.
runway modeling fashionWe went out Wednesday night to the RAW: natural born artists event downtown. I initially wanted to go because I found out that a good friend of ours from high school was chosen as a featured fashion designer for the evening. Plus, I figured a night on the town with Reagan would be a lot of fun. (I’m so bad at taking pictures and I’m kicking myself now for not getting one of us because we were lookin’ pretty cute!)
Our friend Kristin Robbins is the designer behind Tyger Alexis. The line is amazing! She is so wonderfully talented. And to make things even better, two of her models were other friends from high school. So we had a good time catching up with them for a quick minute after the show.
I also mentioned before that I’m trying to clear out our spare bedroom. I can be a bit of a pack-rat and I don’t like throwing things out. I’ve been trying hard to make the tough decisions and just toss what I don’t need and won’t ever use again.

But while I’ve been digging through things I came across a computer disk with a picture on it. The picture was from a beach trip that I took with some of my best friends in 2004, right after I graduated from high school.

That trip was a major milestone in many of our lives. We had a lot of new experiences on that trip. I feel that I grew up during that week at the beach. It holds some of my fondest memories. I love to look back at this picture of all of us and how young and innocent we were. Now we’re all grown, most of us married, some even having kids.
I also came across a box where I kept all of my notes from middle and high school. I can’t believe I still have some of them. Most of them were so pointless, but I had fun last night reading through a few of them. They reminded me of things I’d forgotten and brought to mind some friends that I hadn’t thought about in a long time.
While I know I need to be better at letting things go and not hoarding a bunch of old stuff that I don’t need, I am sometimes thankful for my pack-rat ways when I come across some wonderful gems from my past. I’m glad to have these reminders of old times and old friends.
