Days 14-16 Prompt: Who in your life, aside from spouses or family, inspires you? Who do you turn to when you’re having a hard time? Think about those people and how much they mean to you and how much they do for you. There are so many of us out there who feel like we have no one and who feel like we’re lonely, so appreciate those in your lives who make each day a little better. (from Full Frontal Ostomy)
I have really been blessed with some amazing people in my life. My husband, my parents, my sisters, my in-laws… they all inspire me. I have some of the greatest friends in the world who are always there to support me. And as I wrote a couple of months ago when I had surgery, the support I got made me realize how many amazing people there are in my life.
But outside of my family, my biggest inspiration has always come from my best friend, Rea. Reagan is such a beautiful person, inside and out, and the time I spend with her always inspires me to be a better person and to go after my dreams. Somehow she always brings me back to my “roots.” By that, I mean the things that are deep inside me, my hopes and dreams that I sometimes forget about in the midst of the day-to-day.
She’s one of my greatest supporters, too. She took time to hang out in a waiting room while I had my surgery. She sends me encouraging messages when I’m feeling down. She makes me want to do more with my life. That’s one of the reasons I love spending time with her, because I always feel like a stronger person after I do.
She actually started an amazing business recently called Glory Tree Flowers (check her out!) where she makes beautiful hair flowers. A few months back, she set up a display at a coffee house where she made flowers to bring awareness for Crohn’s Disease and dedicated it to me. She used the money raised to give a donation to the CCFA in my name. I couldn’t ask for a better friend. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her.
Love you, girl!
