Things are calming down here after a pretty busy day. But it’s been a good day. Doctor’s say everything is looking good. I was able to get unhooked from all the fun drains, so I’ve actually been able to feel more like a normal person today.
My mom came out and spent the day with me. I got a shower, took a couple strolls around the halls and we watched a movie. I also made a cute Glory Tree Flower today.

A lady from my parents’ church stopped by to see us and I just wrapped up a wonderful evening with Jarrod’s side of the family. It was nice to get to see them all and just hang out for a little while.
I’ve been learning more about caring for my ostomy, too. It’s still weird and I have been having a little bit of a difficult time accepting it, but it’ll come along… just slowly.
But the good news is, if all goes well tonight, it looks like I’ll be able to go home in the morning. There’s not really much keeping me here at the moment. I haven’t been hooked up to an IV either today and I’m eating a completely normal diet, so now it’s just time to get back to normal life, or I guess my new normal life. I’m just ready to be back in my own bed with no beeping machines or snoring roommates (or at least snoring roommates that I can’t rollover to get them to stop!) and being able to easily enjoy some time outside without having to walk 10 minutes to get there.
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to update everyone from the comfort of my own home and enjoy a relaxing weekend far away from a hospital bed.
