Today I want to take a moment to honor two of the most amazing women I know: our mothers.
The support that these women have given to Jarrod and me throughout the years is immeasurable, and it’s even clearer in these past weeks and months that I’ve been dealing with these health issues.
My mom spent many nearly sleepless nights with me in the hospital, in that awful chair they try to pawn off as a bed. She’s always looking out for me, even badgering the doctors to find me a private room! I have to stop her some times and say (with a smile, of course), “Mom, I’m a grown woman. I can handle it.” She’s such a mom.
Jarrod’s mom has already brought us dinner and cleaned my house and taken in Rylie when Jarrod was staying with me in the hospital. She also knows the way to my heart is through Coach merchandise and she and her sister gave me a beautiful key chain in lieu of flowers.
I wish there was something more that I could do or say to show how appreciative we are of all that they’ve done. These women have so selflessly given to us and I pray that some day we’ll be able to give back even just a fraction of their goodness. They are such shining examples of what a mother should be and I hope that my children will look at me with the same love and respect that I have for them.
So today, I say thank you for all that you’ve done and all that you are. Happy Mother’s Day! We love you both!
