I just found out that I have to be at UNC Hospital for my surgery at 6 a.m. on Monday. It’s going to be an early one, but I’d honestly so much rather get it going early instead of spending the day anticipating it. Plus, since I have to do a colon cleanse and can’t eat anything, that also makes it better to not have to spend the day hungry.
It’s funny, 6 a.m. sounds so early, yet just a few months ago I was at work by 4:30 every morning. Six o’clock would have been sleeping in. Now I’ve gotten spoiled by being able to sleep until 7:00 or so every day.
There you have it for those who were wondering. And when you wake up Monday morning, if you’d say a quick prayer, I’d really appreciate it.

You are in our prayers Steph. Though it sounds strange to say, I am really excited for you and hope that this makes it so you can lead a “normal” life. Being a chronic illness sufferer as well, I find myself smiling in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek manner even writing the word normal. I have decided that a better definition of normal for those of us blessed with chronic illnesses is when you can lay in bed before you fall asleep and think, “Yeah. I had a good day!” and actually be excited about the following day. Whatever it takes to get there is worth it. 🙂

Love,
Hey Ali, thanks for your message. I know of all people, you are one who can understand what it’s like to live every day with something like this hanging over your head.
